I apologize for this coming out late. Happy Labor Day everyone. Today I actually got the chance to train one of my young guys. A 7th grader from Randolph, MA. He contacts me to workout from time to time. That really stands out to me. Someone who is 12 years old has the motivation to contact a resource to get better. Use your resources. Many times we need help but don't reach out to those who will help us. For example, we need help in school but don't go to office hours. How bad do you want to be successful? Are you doing everything in your power to get there? Are you using your resources? Are you making the extra effort to get to the next level?

As a basketball coach, I always tell my players that when they come out of the game they should be panting hard. They should be tired. Reason why is that they should be giving it all they got every time they step on the court. I stress this to everyone reading this. No matter what you are doing, whether you are studying for a test, trying to lose weight, or working on a project at work, give it your all. Do you remember a time where you put your all into something and when you got rewarded for your effort the feeling it gave you? Work for that feeling every time. Even if you don't accomplish everything you set out to do, by giving it your all you will still feel some satisfaction. My team was the #1 team in MetroWest Basketball and lost in the playoffs. That playoff game we lost, I never saw them play harder. They were upset, but they were so happy with their play that game. I couldn't be any more proud. Input that into your life. Give everything you do all your effort. You'll be surprised on how good it'll make you feel.

To all my NBA fans out there, do you remember the Lakers team during the 2012-2013 season. Some probably don't but they were supposed to be the new Super Team. They were supposed to be the best team in the NBA. They acquired Dwight Howard and Steve Nash, and already had Ron Artest, Pau Gasol, and of course Kobe Bryant. They had 5 All Stars in their starting line up and 1 coming off the bench in Antawn Jamison. The problem was the Super Team part never happened. They finished 7th in the western conference, 13th in the entire NBA, and were swept in the first round. Why didn't they work? They didn't work together. They weren't ever able to gel as a team. Now if the Los Angeles Lakers can have problems make sure you're checking your team. Chemistry is a huge part in the success of a team. Being able to understand each other is a huge deal because communication is key. It doesn't matter how talented you are, how skilled, you all are. If you all aren't on the same page it is hard to make things work. Trust me. Ask the 2012-13 Lakers team.
